ISHRS Celebrates Successful 18th Annual Conference
29th November 2010
Last month, Team Farjo attended the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery). It was held in Boston, USA over 4 and half days. Our travelling group included both Drs Farjo, patient coordinator Mick McHugh and surgical assistants, Sara Roberts RN and Michelle Woodhouse. Additionally we took two of our patients with us for the Live Patient Viewing event (see below).
It was an excellent event with plentiful educational lectures and workshops as well as an opportunity to network and catch up with colleagues and friends.
Dr Nilofer Farjo had a very busy schedule throughout the event. On day 1, she lectured on Cell and Gene Therapy at the Board Review Course for the intermediate and advanced level. On day 3, she directed a workshop for Fellowship Training Protocol Educators titled ‘ How To Present At Medical Meetings’. On day 4, she was one of four surgeon designers on a panel called ‘Interactive Hairline Design’. This was interesting as the audience had to vote on which surgeon’s hairline design they most agree with on a number of cases. Dr Farjo gathered the most votes!

Dr Bessam Farjo was one of three podium faculty presenting as experts at a symposium on the subject of ‘Complications’ on day 2. He was also invited to bring two patients for the Live Patient Viewing event on day 4. This is where the delegates from the whole conference get to see examples of experts’ work. This is the third meeting in a row Dr Farjo takes part in this, and this time we took with us ‘Patient P’ as well as Brian Beacom who is featured on our website. Patient P is a corrective case after having unsatisfactory results at another clinic previously. He will be featured on our site soon.
