The Farjo Team Attends ISHRS 33rd Annual World Congress in Berlin
Last month, the Farjo Hair Institute team travelled to Berlin for the 33rd Annual World Congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The meeting brought together over 1000 attendees including surgeons, scientists and specialists from around the world to share insights, explore innovations and discuss the latest scientific and surgical advances in the field of hair restoration.
All of our surgeons – Dr Nilofer Farjo, Dr Bessam Farjo, Dr Greg Williams, Dr Rachael Kay and Dr Zayn Sattar – attended, accompanied by several members of our highly skilled technician team. The 2025 congress, chaired by Dr Sam Lam, was designed to push the boundaries of education by focusing on advanced knowledge and techniques. This year’s programme replaced introductory sessions with in-depth masterclasses, video-based learning and interactive debates to ensure a more engaging and practical experience for delegates.
We were proud to see the Farjo team contribute across so many areas of the programme. Dr Bessam Farjo served as a moderator on the Complications Panel, guiding a lively and thought-provoking discussion on how surgeons can best prevent, recognise and manage complex surgical challenges.
At a dedicated side event focusing on complication cases, Dr Greg Williams presented a case, offering valuable insight into the management of difficult scenarios. Meanwhile, Dr Nilofer Farjo contributed as part of the Grants and Awards Committee, where she delivered an update on the 2025 ISHRS research grants – highlighting the society’s continued commitment to innovation, evidence-based practice and the next generation of research in hair restoration science.
In addition, Dr Bessam Farjo, Dr Nilofer Farjo, Dr Greg Williams and Dr Rachael Kay all took part in the “Coffee with the Experts” sessions chairing their assigned tables, and sharing their expertise and offering guidance to attendees.
Our talented technicians also played an outstanding role. Julie, one of our senior surgical assistants for more than 20 years, contributed to a panel discussion during the Surgical Assistants Meeting, while Chloe, from our London clinic, delivered a talk at the Surgical Assistants Congress – an impressive achievement that reflects both her personal dedication and the high training standards upheld at the Farjo Hair Institute.
Overall, ISHRS Berlin 2025 proved to be an outstanding meeting that reinforced Farjo Hair Institute’s ongoing commitment to excellence, education and leadership in hair restoration surgery. The knowledge and insights gained will help us continue to deliver the very best results for our patients in Manchester and London. We are already looking forward to sharing our expertise at next year’s congress in Rio!
