Hats Off To 2015: Here’s To Another Fantastic Year!
2nd December 2015
As 2015 comes to an end, we wanted to muse over all the brilliant projects we’ve been involved with over the past year. From chairing conferences to team-building charitable exercises – this year, Farjo really has seen it all!
Back in January, Dr Bessam headed to the Paris-based International Master Course on Aging Skin (IMCAS) conference, where he was invited to speak about robotic hair transplants using the world-renowned ARTAS machine. Considering Farjo has one of just two ARTAS hair transplant robots in the UK, it was a great pleasure to be able to bring our expertise with the market changing device to the overseas market.
It wasn’t all jet-setting though – we were also invited to attend and speak at events on our own soil throughout 2015, including the annual FACE Conference, Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and the prestigious MyFaceMyBody Awards, where we were honoured to witness ARTAS scoop the ‘2015 Best Cosmetic Surgery Product or Device’ category.
On a slightly different note, we were extremely proud to see our London lead hair transplant surgeon, Dr Greg Williams, feature in an episode of Botched Up Bodies. The popular Channel 5 programme aired in January and saw Dr Greg help anxious patient, Graham Ryder, to achieve his desired results with corrective surgery.
Here at Farjo, one of our core values is helping charities and individuals wherever we can. As such, 2015 saw us launch an official partnership with The Katie Piper Foundation – a dedicated charity that helps individuals with burns and scars to rehabilitate. We’re honoured to be able to offer pro bono hair transplant surgery to people who have been affected by burns, that can affect them physically as well as psychologically.
But, we didn’t stop there! In August, we took part in the ‘It’s a Knockout Challenge’, which saw us getting together as a team to help raise money for leading children’s charity – When You Wish Upon a Star. The organisation’s mission is to grant the wishes of children living with a life-threatening illness. We’re thrilled to have raised over £3,700 for the charity and hope we helped towards making many young people’s dreams come true and have fun along the way!
Finally, our most recent highlight is seeing our Dr Nilofer Farjo successfully chair the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery’s (ISHRS) Annual Congress in September. Dr Nilofer travelled to Chicago for the biggest annual hair transplant congress in the world – where she was proud to be the very first doctor in the UK and second from Europe to take up this title.
After an incredible year with many fantastic achievements, we’re really looking forward to seeing what 2016 has to bring for us at Farjo. Thanks for all of your support over the past 12 months and we hope you all have a great New Year!
