The low price may be tempting, but these pictures reveal just how badly things can go wrong with dodgy hair transplants. Doctors have released pictures showing the risks people are taking when they travel abroad to try and cure their baldness. They were released by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) which is warning about procedures done by ‘taxi drivers and Syrian refugees with no training’.

There is strict regulation in the UK where clinics have to register with the NHS and the Care Quality Commission.

Farjo Hair Institute’s Dr Greg Williams is based in London. He added: ‘I believe patients and practitioners should report clinics to the CQC that are not registered. ‘If you are operating on patients in a non-CQC registered hair transplant clinic then you are operating illegally.’
