REGENERA POST-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

Following your Regenera treatment, we recommend that all patients follow the instructions below in order to help recovery of the donor and treated area.

  • Avoid touching of the donor and treated area for 24 hours to aid recovery and prevent any infection – after 24 hours you can gently begin washing your hair again.
  • You may get some bleeding or oozing from the donor site. Apply gentle pressure with a clean tissue or cloth for 5 minutes.
  • You mayexperience some pain, bruising / swelling at the donor site – if this occurs do not worry this will subside over the next 24-48 hours. If swelling does occur then you can use ice-packs ensuring they are wrapped in a clean towel.
  • At the injection sites there is a chance you’ll experience mild to moderate pain/discomfort – including a temporary headache. If this occurs please ensure to stay hydrated and take paracetamol as and when required.
  • Please ensure NO anti-inflammatory medications are taken at least 1 week post procedure – this includes ibuprofen.
  • Avoid applying topical medication on the treated area for 5 days – including topical minoxidil.
  • For a minimum of 24 hours please do not expose your scalp to direct heat or engage activities which will cause you to sweat.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days.
  • Please note the common side effects from the Regenera treatment – Minor bleeding, redness and pain from the donor/recipient site. Please inform us if you notice any –
    1. Swelling of forehead and around eyes (very rarely this can be accompanied by bruising)
    2. Allergic reaction to local anaesthetic if used (very rare)
    3. Infection (very rare)
