    Worldwide, around 60 per cent of men and 50 per cent of women will experience some form of hair loss, according to Heathline, and hair transplants are done to add more hair to an area where it might be thinning or balding on the head.

    A number of public figures have spoken out about having had a hair transplant, including footballer Wayne Rooney and actor James Nesbitt, whilst chef Gordon Ramsay, David Beckham and actor Rob Brydon are rumoured to have had the procedure.

    Heathline reports that “hair transplants are typically more successful than over-the-counter hair restoration products,” but add that there are some factors to consider.

    There are different types of hair transplant, and the price of the procedure is not insignificant, with effects dependent on who carries out the transplant, so it’s important to consider all aspects and talk to professionals, before opting for the procedure.
